The registered office is where formal post must go. For anything you actually want answered, the Discord is faster and the maker reads it daily.

Privacy, briefly

No accounts, no forms, no cookies, no analytics, no tracking — we collect nothing you actively give us. Our web server does keep standard access logs, including your IP address, for security, and deletes them after 15 days. 1. Who we are

Frayed Scion is made by Splinter Scion Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales; the registration details are in Company details. In these terms, "we" means that company. [Legal review: which entity should contract with players, and whether any other entity is party to these terms]

2. What these terms cover

3. Eligibility

4. Your account

• There are no accounts yet (see Accounts & sign-in). When they exist: one person per account, keep your password to yourself, and what happens under your sign-in is yours to answer for.

5. Conduct

6. Purchases and virtual things

• Nothing is for sale today. When something is, one design law is already public: nothing sold will ever win a fight — paid content is status and support, never advantage. That is a statement of design intent, not a contractual warranty. [Legal review: how to state this without creating one]

7. Your content

8. The game is in development

This site is operated by Splinter Scion Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company no. 17372791), registered office 2 Grafton Court, Nottingham, England, NG7 3GH. Contact: help@splinterscion.com.

The site has no accounts, forms, cookies, analytics, or tracking, and we do not collect any information you actively provide.

Server logs

Like nearly all websites, our web server automatically records standard access logs for each request. These contain your IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, the response status, the referring page (if any), and your browser's user-agent string. We use these logs solely for security and to diagnose technical problems. We do not use them to identify visitors, and we do not combine them with any other data. Logs are held on our hosting infrastructure (DigitalOcean, acting as our processor) and deleted after 15 days. Our legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functioning website (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

Things kept in your browser

A few small preferences are stored in your browser's local storage only, and are never sent to us: a visit counter, the banner you mark on the Peoples page, and — in the forum preview — any posts you write and the handle you choose. The full list, with the exact names, is in What this site keeps. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes all of them.

Your rights

You have rights under UK GDPR, including access to and erasure of your personal data — contact us at help@splinterscion.com to exercise them. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

What this site will collect later, as features arrive

None of the following happens today. It is listed so the direction is public early, and this notice will be updated before any of it starts.

• An email address, if you offer one — for the occasional letter, with a working unsubscribe. [Legal review: lawful basis, provider, retention]
• Account data, when accounts exist — sign-in credentials, characters, game state. [Legal review: full data inventory, retention and deletion policy]
• Whatever moderation needs — forum posts and reports, held long enough to act on them. [Legal review: retention windows]

What will stay true

• No selling of personal data. Not at launch, not later, not "anonymised".
• Collection stays minimal: if a feature doesn't need a piece of data, it isn't asked for.
• You can ask what is held about you, and have it deleted — see Your rights above. That is true now, not later.

What this site keeps

In your browser, and only there

The site stores four small things in your browser's local storage so the pages can remember you between visits. They never leave your machine:

• ss_visits — how many times you've opened the site. The lamps use it.
• ss_banner — the banner you marked on the Peoples page.
• ss_forum_v1 — anything you write in the forum preview. The forum is not lit yet: posts are held in your own browser and are never sent anywhere, so nobody else can read them and they will not survive to the real forum.
• ss_handle — the handle you pick in that preview.

Clearing this site's data in your browser removes all four, and costs you nothing but a marked banner and a draft post. Nothing else is kept, because nothing else is asked.
